Trip Terms, Payment Terms & Privacy Policy

These Trip Terms & Conditions govern your participation in activities. By confirming a booking, you agree to these Terms, along with our Payment Terms and Privacy Policy.

Terms & conditions

1. Our Role

Tidetribe curates and coordinates small-group travel activities in partnership with trusted local operators. We handle bookings, communication, and overall trip coordination, while on-the-ground activities are delivered by experienced local crews and guides.

2. Nature of Travel

Our trips take place in remote, natural environments and may include: boat travel, swimming and snorkeling, zero or limited wifi, limited electricity, possible sand flies and mosquitos, and variable weather and sea conditions. These elements are part of the experience and part of what makes it special.

3. Assumption of Risk

By joining a trip, you acknowledge that travel and outdoor activities involve inherent risks, you choose to participate voluntarily, and you accept responsibility for your own safety and decisions during the trip.

4. Fitness to Participate

By booking, you confirm that you are physically fit for boat travel and water-based activities, comfortable in open water environments, and have disclosed any relevant medical conditions. We reserve the right to refuse participation if safety may be compromised.

5. Safety & Conduct

For the safety of everyone on board, you agree to follow all instructions from crew and guides, act responsibly and respectfully, and respect local communities and the natural environment. We reserve the right to remove any guest whose behaviour puts themselves or others at risk.

6. Itinerary Flexibility

Conditions on the water can change quickly. We may adjust routes, timings, or stops due to weather or sea conditions, safety considerations, and operational requirements. Any changes are made with your safety and overall experience in mind.

7. Weather & Uncontrollable Events

Trips may be affected by circumstances beyond our control, including weather conditions, sea conditions, government restrictions, and natural events. In such cases, trips may be modified, postponed, or cancelled. Refunds or rescheduling will follow our Payment Terms.

8. Insurance

We strongly recommend that all travellers carry their own travel insurance. Your policy should cover medical expenses, emergency evacuation, trip cancellations or delays, and loss or damage to personal belongings. Tidetribe does not provide insurance coverage.

9. Personal Responsibility

You are responsible for arriving on time at the agreed meeting point, bringing appropriate clothing and gear, and safeguarding your personal belongings. We are not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal items.

10. Third-Party Services

We work with carefully selected local operational partners to deliver each activity. While we coordinate and curate these trips, certain services are provided by independent operators.

11. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tidetribe shall not be liable for injury, loss, or damage sustained during the trip, delays, changes, or disruptions outside our control, or actions or omissions of third-parties. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot be excluded under applicable law.

12. Photography & Media

During trips, photos or videos may be taken. By participating, you agree that Tidetribe may use this content for marketing and promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be included, please let us know in advance.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Philippines.

Payment Terms

We make significant operational and financial commitments to plan your trip. For this reason, the following trip payment terms apply.

1. Deposit

A minimum 20% deposit is required to confirm your reservation. This deposit is partially refundable under the conditions outlined below.

2. Remaining Balance

The remaining 80% balance must be paid in cash (PHP) on the day of your trip, prior to departure. Failure to settle the remaining balance may result in cancellation of your booking without refund of the deposit.

3. Date Changes

You may reschedule your booking up to 7 days before departure free of charge. Only one free date change is permitted per booking. Additional changes may incur fees. Changes made within 7 days of departure are subject to a 10% change fee (based on total trip cost). All changes are subject to availability.

4. Cancellations

Cancellations made 14 days or more before departure: refund of 10% of the total trip cost (50% of deposit). Cancellations made within 14 days of departure: deposit is non-refundable. All refunds exclude payment processing fees.

5. Weather & Force Majeure

If a trip is cancelled or cannot proceed due to unsafe weather or sea conditions, government restrictions, natural events, or other circumstances beyond our control, you will be offered the option to reschedule, or a deposit refund minus payment processing fees (up to 5%).

6. No-Show Policy

Failure to arrive at the agreed meeting point at the specified time will be treated as a no-show. In this case, the deposit is non-refundable and the booking is considered forfeited.

7. Late Arrivals

Trips operate on fixed schedules. Late arrivals may miss departure and may be treated as a no-show. No refunds will be issued in such cases.

8. Payment Processing Fees

All refunds are subject to non-recoverable payment processing fees charged by third-party providers.

9. Environmental and Entrance Fees

Trips exclude environmental fees. Guests are responsible for payment of all applicable environmental, eco-tourism, and site-specific entrance fees required by local authorities. These fees are subject to change without prior notice and are controlled by relevant municipal or tourism bodies.

Estimated fees (guide only):

  • El Nido: PHP 400 per person (valid for multiple days)
  • Coron: PHP 200 per person (additional site fees may apply)
  • Linapacan: PHP 200 per person

These amounts are indicative and may vary at the time of travel.

10. Taxes

All prices are listed in Philippine Peso (PHP) and include applicable taxes, unless stated otherwise.
